Huge plumes of smoke were seen on one of France's most iconic streets today, as protesters burned large plywood sheets, chairs and other material in demonstrations against planned fuel hikes. A water cannon and rounds of teargas were also used by riot police against thousands of French 'Yellow Vest' fuel protesters in Paris today as the Champs Elysee was reduced to a battlefield. The grassroots movement is campaigning against a what is believes to be a general decline in living standards across the country, and the recent decision to raise fuel prices. The worst violence took place on the most famous avenue in the city where a huge crowd called for President Emmanuel Macron to resign.

• Purple fingers (needs something to prevent an absentee voter/early voter from re-voting at the poll, maybe blockchain, also maybe a mugshot showing the voter an the photo ID taken at sign in? H/T for-q-clinton)
• Mandatory free on demand BIOMETRIC (iris scan, nobody ever left their irises at a crime scene!) photo ID, with a database that instantly flags for arrest anyone seeking multiple IDs. Change of name? Simply have your old card voided when you apply for the new one. At each election punch a hole in the ID, like they do in Mexico (H/T spokeshave2)
• No precinct reports their totals until ALL precincts report they have totals. No results are released until all results are in. This prevents the last to report precinct captains from knowing how much to fudge a report to give a win to their preferred candidate while maintaining some slight semblance of credibility.
• Repeal Motor Voter.
• End same-day registration where it exists, and allow ample time between registration and election for vetting of credentials of registrants.
• Instantly deport any non-citizen who registers to vote.
• Put a little ⩍ next to the names of those registered voters with death certificates, and detain and put a 72 hour psychiatric hold anyone claiming to be a dead person...
I tried watching some live but it was talking heads. These were natives, and not the invading “youths”?
They are doing the same thing over here. With the assistance of their fifth column, Catholic Charities, they have established their beach head in MN and are presently fanning out throughout the Country.They have increased their presence in Congress by 100%, In addition to that , they increased the Public Offices the hold substantially. Their juggernaut continues moving forward relentlessly.

I understand. I did love living there, but found, even with two good incomes, it was tough to make ends meet. Just moved east of California and life is much easier. We love to drive over for a visit, but I am relieved that I no longer have to sweat the end of the month.

Luckily, I worked in a high paying industry. And, I began saving in my teens. Yet, when I knew I was going to buy my last house, the real estate market took off with a roar.
I set a top limit. The guy who owned my place was a well known baseball player in North Korea and had never seen it. He set the price high. I turned it down and looked elsewhere. Hey contacted me then and lowered the price twice.
I still think I overpaid but I have it, a semi-rustic location in LA, a handful of neighbors. Prices are now coming back down.
Thank god I was born here ... all the CA badmouthing would have scared me away .... yet I have seen dozens of people visit ... and the come back permanently. I just NEVER talk politics with anyone. A few weeks ago I said something nice about Trump and everyone in the room froze and looked at me. Awkward. :o)
Global Warming makes things BURN
Everything I saw....were authentic French folks (not refugees or teenage French ‘punks’). It was mostly all men (no women). This appears to be a group which is very much anti-Macron. The fact that German public TV news folks....were willing to tell the complete story surprised me. The budget crisis in France will eventually come to Germany as well, with some kind of invented new tax hike to occur (probably by end of 2019).
When we moved to California a few decades ago, we lived in an apartment for 1 1/2 years just to save up a deposit. Bought a nice house and loved our community. I think, aside from all the illegals, the scariest thing is the property tax. We occasionally look at houses on the internet, in our old community. Cannot fathom paying those sky high property taxes again.
Good! Now London can burn. Start with MI^ headquarters.
They riot about gas taxes but ignore the forced muslim invasion meant to replace them.

We have Prop whatever-it-is that brought down property taxes.
I had a gorgeous little Spanish Colonial just blocks from the LA River and right next to Griffith Park! I had gotten a place in the next neighborhood with lower prices. By the time I was chomping at the bit to get back to LA proper, property values were astronomical. And, being in a community over, my place, although nice, did not appreciate as fast.
You know, I think people just save their property taxes right along with their mortgage.
I sold my little Spanish Colonial to an unknown actor whose parents bought it for him. And I added lots of stuff to my last sale ... I was shocked that people were chomping at the bit to buy it.
My neighbor put his place up at around $800,000. I wanted to make a bid on it but but by the time I called 5 days later there were 42 bids and it went for well over a million.
I’m lucky this is my last house ...l no longer have the stomach or resources for it.
If you’re “east of CA” then you’re probably still getting some sun! In the end, at least we have SOMEWHERE to go!
As I recall a tax on salt was one of the root causes of the French Revolution.
That makes sense. The vineyard owners are angry that the price of the additive that gives French wine its distinct flavor is going up.
