We shouldn’t be wanting “a form of religion without the power thereof.” This was a slump easy to fall into when most Americans gave lip service to Christian public morality. Now that we cannot count on our environment to buttress our religion, we must look afresh to the Lord first and foremost, and let the foolish world choose to do what it will while we extend a classic salvation message to it rather than a legal demand. I.e. we must let Christianity be Christianity again.
