Russia: We'll Verify U.S. Moon Landings

Yep - watch "How the Universe Works" from time to time and the more they say, the more sure I am that God spoke it into existence just for us.

I think I did a quick calculation some time back when I heard about the moon moving away - if I remember right, in 50,000 years, it will be 1 mile farther.

The Hassleblad stills and 16mm film the Astronauts took are absolutely stunning, there is no way the terrain could be faked in a studio. Not even today. The engineering of the mission, the cooperation between different manufacturers and academia was amazing. IBM, MIT, North American, Grumman, etc. I think when looking at the level of sophistication and planning and attention to detail, it simply wasn’t possible for the Soviet Union. They had some very fine scientists and engineers, but they didn’t have the depth and breadth of privately held corporations capable of that level of production and continual process of improvement, with oversight by capable mission managers who had the ability to say “No, we’re not doing it that way. Here’s why”. That kind of thinking got you sent on a permanent tour of Siberia.

The whole “Moon Hoax” thing is so absurd I am not hopeful about the future. I mean, crap like this isn’t the only problem we have but it’s an indication of how stupid people have become.

Acretion is gravity in action

Did you read my explanation of why gravity is the mechanism? Accretion has very little to do with it. Moon tugs on the oceans, the friction slows the Earth's rotation and some of the Earth's angular momentum is transferred to the Earth-Moon binary system's rotation, which causes to Earth and Moon to move apart. Not accretion.

Astronomy definition of accretion:

"astronomy the process in which matter under the influence of gravity is attracted to and increases the mass of a celestial body. The matter usually forms an accretion disc around the accreting object."
