Having used fine film and digital cameras (I presume), compare the knowledge you possess to that of a kid with a cell phone.

At one time film technology alone was a scientific endeavor of some note. Not to mention lenses, lighting, exposure, etc.

Selfies on Snap-Chat hardly compare.
