I sure hope you are right. Cases of this type require a capable and determined team of prosecutors and investigators willing to devote long hours and years of effort. The principal defense strategy is delay, obfuscation, and wearing down of the prosecution. It often works.

It will ultimately come down to whether the government is willing to match defendants’ spending. Every frivolous motion, every hearing, it all costs money. Someone has to prepare a written response and make the court appearance.

The odds are much better for us in the federal court system than any state court. Funds are nearly unlimited. And there is plenty of support from the White House.

I will say, if not now, it will be never. We don’t have republicans with actual courage other than President Trump, Devon Nunes, and a few others.
