Let’s not get into this,ok?. The Southern Fire Eaters bought it all down of themselves.

Fantasies hit the wall of Lincoln. His platform included not interfering with slavery where it existed but the Fire-Eaters demanded that it be allowed to expand.

Lincoln was a moderate when elected, not at all in accord with the Abolitionists, the fanatics on the North’s side.

For the South the entire war was over slavery and the fear of the Slavers.

There is a lot more to it than that, and the North was not without blame also. I am reading “Hamilton” by Ron Cernow and so much of what happened had it's roots in the founding of the country. Excellent read and i recommend it.

Yes, how dare they get tired of nasty liberals in the north constantly accusing them of being the most evil people in the world. How dare they not just keep paying 75-85% of all the bills of the Federal government which kept spending that income mostly in the Northern states where the government's crony capitalist allies kept getting their hands on the money!

They should have just paid the bills and kept their mouth's shut. Same as the New York and Washington DC spending cartel keeps telling us today.
