I remember the so called “environmentalists” who put spikes in trees to stop logging. The men who cut down trees could be grievously injured if they were to cut into a tree the “environmentalists” had spiked. Imagine a metal spike hitting a logger in the eye or chest. If a tree were successfully felled and sent to the lumber mill with spikes intact, the expensive saws that cut the wood would be broken. The mill workers would also be in physical danger.
So if you are a radical “environmentalist” who successfully stopped the logging industry you must be thrilled by the death and destruction the latest wildfires have brought because of your zealotry. .
There was a sawmill worker who lost a portion of his face years ago when he fed a piece into a gang saw or resaw.
They spiked it and the saw broke when he sent it through the saw.
I suppose it was an older mill that hadnt put in the magnet yet to catch such.
They worst is insulators. Hit one of those with a saw and the excitement grows quite a bit.
The spikes didn’t usually hit the logger in the chest or eye.
The CHAIN on the CHAINSAW is what broke & severely wounded or killed the logger. Chain was broken when it hit the spike.
