The biggest problem that needs fixing is money pouring into red states from outsiders. Hollywood shouldn’t be allowed to interfere in a Texas election.

We did better than almost any other President’s first midterm election.

We lost upwards of 35 seats and control of the House. We picked up a net gain of two Senate seats in an election cycle where 11 Democrats were running in states Trump won. Call that a good performance is delusional.

No. I don’t think this is a healthy outlook moving forward. Republicans need to get their act together. Beto got a lot of votes in Texas.

And he got those votes running not as a "Texas" Democrat but as a "San Fransisco" Democrat. He didn't even pretend to be anything but far Left.

You're right. Democrats learned a lot of lessons in 2016 and applied them this time around. Republicans lost races they should have won and won by the slimmest margins races that should have been blowouts.

Obama could afford to lose 3.5 million votes between 2008 and 2012 yet still remain in the White House. President Trump can't afford to lose a single one. We need to up our game.

This was a bad result and the worst part it was almost as bad as the media predictions.

Hopefully nobody here will ever post "Don't pay attention to the polls. They all said Hillary would win!"

I got so tired of seeing this. People just didn't get it.

This from someone from a Blue state.

So how does stating the obvious mean I want a Democrat in 2020?

Are you saying Sheldon Adelson shouldn't be allowed to interfere in a Texas election? It goes both ways. A lot of money from wealthy Republican supporters went to Republican candidates in a lot of states, and may well have made the difference in some of them.

The only obvious thing is you are hack and troll. The GOP sabotaged the election with ~40 incumbent taking their ball and going home and dumb asses can’t see that.

I believe part of the losses could be because the incumbent was retiring or choosing not to run for reelection. That may in some part have conveyed a hidden meaning to people that the incumbent wanted change. How many retiring or non running incumbent seats were flipped?

Here's a list of the seats that were flipped. As near as I can tell maybe half a dozen or so were seats where the Republican incumbent retired.

The core of the Trump problems for 2020 is that PA, MI, and WI are back to their old Democrat “safety net”.

Be not mistaken. The Dems want 45 off the table in 2020. They may alienate some soft Dem voters. But their surety is wreaking the Republican ticket. You can bet on that. There is a cost. Perhaps the Jackassed voters will feel it monetarily and in job losses... but the spin will always be “it was Trumps fault.”

Conservatives, Goppers, Never-Trumpers (el al) who refused to vote midterm did this country a grave disservice by giving the leftists a bit of breathing room.

This guy has been wrong about alot. So has the "Q brigade". Trump was an anomaly in politics. The Democrats are getting alot of support for the ideas we all know are crazy.

We are losing the war of ideas and capturing new minds because we have ceded the realm of education to the leftists. That doesn't bode well in 2020.

Not if Soros’ Operation SOS still controls so many state Secretary of State offices and steals elections like they did this time.

Voters don’t decide. The vote-counters decide.

This election wasn’t list because of “turnout”. The GOP turned out. And still lost. It’s demographics and voter fraud. The Dems will perfect that going into 2020.

Democrats won it on demographics and vote fraud. Trump has done nothing so far to stop either.

What can he do? He's not emperor. He at least called out the ballot stuffing, repeated voting, illegals voting, etc. which is far more than any other Republican president would have ever done.

President Trump can't do much about the multiple election machines across the country. These absolutely need local oversight. Republicans need to be at every precinct, watching over everything like hawks.

Actually, in TX turnout was under 60 percent in the higher-voting counties and below 40 percent in quite a few. Beto strongholds. like Willacy and Zapata. Little Borden County south of Lubbock had the highest turnout with 70 percent.

“This election wasn’t list because of “turnout”. The GOP turned out. And still lost. It’s demographics and voter fraud.”

49% of eligible voters voted. Which was a great turnout. It also means 51% of eligible voters DID NOT choose to participate. Slice and dice the numbers, clamp down on the fraud etc... But - conservatives need all hands on deck.

Right now I’m not so sure that absentee ballots are good idea. I think we’re going to find out that a lot of this fraud took place around the mail in votes.

>>We did better than almost any other President’s first midterm election. We picked up two in the Senate<<

Folks act as if the house flipping to the opposite party mid-term is a big earth shattering event when in reality, it is pretty common.

Keeping/extending the Senate is a BIG deal. There will likely be another Supreme Court confirmation hearing within the next 2 years...and the Senate is ours. The Supreme Court is already leaning right.

Let the Dems show their rear ends over the next two years...we will take the House back and give Trump another 4 years in 2020.
