Democratic congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema has emerged victorious in Arizonas hotly contested Senate battle, helping her party make gains in the upper chamber of Congress.
Following a hotly contested race where both candidates lead in differing polls, Sinema Arizonas 9th Congressional District representative has defeated Republican congresswoman Martha McSally after nearly a week since Election Day.
The back-and-forth election saw both candidates take the lead at different times before the November elections. McSally trailed Sinema for much of the beginning of the campaign, but saw her numbers rise after Sinema a former activist against the Iraq and Afghanistan war dealt with numerous embarrassing headlines emanating from her past.
McSally originally led in the vote count. However, Sinema was able to rack up mail-in votes following Election, eventually surpassing her Republican opponent.
Before becoming a U.S. representative, Sinema was involved in numerous protests against the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, with some of her past actions resurfacing. In 2003, a group she co-founded distributed flyers that depicted U.S. soldiers as skeletons. During a radio interview in 2003, Sinema is on record saying she didnt care if Americans took up arms to join the Taliban. McSally, on the other-hand, was fiercely attacked for her vote in the House to repeal Obamacare, a law she has long criticized.
Well, Sean, I did vote to repeal and replace Obamacare on that House bill Im getting my ass kicked for it right now because its being misconstrued by the Democrats, McSally said in an interview with Sean Hannity in late October. The Human Rights Campaign 2018 Los Angeles Gala Dinner - Show

The Real Clear Politics average of polls gave McSally a one-point lead in the run up to Election Day. While all within the margin-of-error, three of the latest surveys included the RCP average showed McSally ahead.
The Associated Press called the election on Monday night.
McSally took to Twitter to concede and thanked her supporters.
“Why do you think the dems want open borders! Next Texas. Florida is a test.”
We already have open borders. When the .gov can fly in 10,000 muslim light bulb heads from Somalia and plop them down in Whytopia, Minnesota we have open borders.
Sure sounds like it.
whoa...Sec. of State flipped like 6k votes in a heartbeat to RAT at the last minute.
They need a fiery right-winger to run in AZ-McSally needs to lead the SPCA
How odd that the same state that so loved its war hero McCain turned its back on another war hero.
This is the bottom line, McSally was tied to McCain during her political career. Arpaio split the vote during the primary. Mc Sally was the GOPe candidate, thats why she lost.
Isaiah 3:12 says it all...
I bought into "we have it all" stuff and apparently, it was all crap.....
I expected a fight...
we're on our own....
I guess prayer will be our solace.
-— the first bisexual Senator -—
Are you sure?
Then she has 2 years to develop a personality. A cantaloupe has more warmth than Martha, and in this superficial celebrity-driven society, charisma is very important these days when it comes to elections. Competence and experience are way down the list, sorry to say.
Certainly seems to describe some of Obama’s popularity and the new love for Socialism and “gay rights” that have been drilled into young skulls full of mush.
I remember that verse from way back. Nearly 40 years ago.
That isnt true. Wards and Arpaios votes added together didnt reach McSallys vote total.
“Republican Governor won by 325,000 but McSally lost by 32,000? Something fishy here.”
I agree. Very odd.
McSally is a woman.
McSally is a war veteran.
McSally broke the class ceiling for women.
McSally is a fighter pilot.
In Arizona where ever criticism of Juan McCain was met with “Oh, how can you say that? He’s a war hero,” she had one draw back: she was a Republican.
The Secretary of State flip is HUGE. This is what Tom Steyer was really after with all that money he threw at Arizona. This guarantees Arizona will be blue with a Democrat Secretary of State in charge of elections and the Maricopa County Recorder a democrat, too. The Democrats aided by all that Soros and Steyer money are getting all their ducks in a row for 2020. Arizona just made it a lot easier for them.
She and her socialist/commie buddy ocasio-cortex can be roomies. What an awesome deal. I can see the 2028 ticket now.
I agree. Very odd.
Has to be salty Arpaio & Ward voters to went to Sinema instead of McSally!!!!
IDIOT Republicans voted for Sinema
I believe Sinema said the first OPENLY bisexual Senator. (Actually she said that about herself when she won her House seat in 2012, after the Dems illegally gerrymandered her a newly shaped House District) Sinema has been their Fairhaired Princess who ticks several of their minority boxes.
Extended voting is simply extended fraud.
A useless coward. Bad omen if this is what the military produces. Stolen from her and she did nothing.
Florida goes next. Scott will cave after they steal it.
