When did that happen?
For every one case like this there are hundreds where the person defending themselves was also charged, convicted,and went to jail along with the intruder for defending themselves with a firearm.
This person got lucky because this is VERY RARE for Ca.
The only chance you have to “possibly” not be charged for defending yourself is if you are locked inside your home and can absolutely prove a forced entry. Even then you are at the mercy of an anti-gun culture in court if the DA decides there is any question at all. And you will never find a “jury of your peers” as a firearm owner.
What about the right to defend your property or person when outside your home? This is illegal, Ca laws dictate that if you do not have yourself locked “inside” your home you have no right at all to defend yourself or your property and you are forced to be a victim to the public masses.
