You’re missing my point. Obama wasn’t qualified because of his father’s lack of citizenship, but the bigger issue was the circumstances of his upbringing. He spent many years in Indonesia, and then Hawaii. Neither of these locations imbues their citizens with a deep appreciation of American culture. Regardless of status, any candidate similarly situated must be able to demonstrate a deep and abiding love of country. Obama failed that test completely.

There was a brief controversy as to whether Eisenhower was qualified to serve. Besides "natural born Citizen," the Constitution also requires a candidate to have been a Resident in the US for 14 years. Because of Eisenhower's constant overseas assignments, there was a question as to whether he had those 14 years.
