That might work for the Governor contest. The federal offices have their own rules, which they can change when they want. So if the 'Rats pull a fast one and try to slip Nelson back into the Senate, the 'Pubs should do what the 'Rats did in '84 with the Indiana 8th Congressional District. Remember that one? The Indiana SoS certified the 'Pub the winner but since the 'Rats controlled the House they refused to seat him until they, and they alone, decided the outcome based on a dizzying number of "recounts" where if the 'Rats didn't like the outcome they changed the rules and did another recount until the 'Rat "won" (by four votes out of over 233,000 cast). Well, if it comes to it, time for some payback. The 'Pubs control the Senate. Just refuse to seat Nelson until we have enough recounts (that we control) to put our guy in. The Senate, just like the House, can make their own rules. Make this one. Count those votes as often as needed.

I know there will be those who abhor such approaches. Truth is, I do, too. The purest counts are always those made on election night. But this kind of crap is going to go on forever until 'Rats start losing elections like they "win" them now. Until then, there is no incentive for the 'Rats to play fair. As long as they can "win" like they are doing here, nothing will change.
