Will they think that since their mother put up with this kind of outrageous public undermining, that it would be sanctioned as OK for their own relationships when they become adults. Kids are like sponges, soaking up good and bad. Sad all the way around. I hope she acts soon, one way or the other.

I find his actions to be symptomatic of a more serious problem: disrespect. I understand that opposites often attract and such relationships can be successful. But there has to be an underlying measure of respect between two people. And this means never crossing the line into denigrating behavior. Its a very slippery slope that can lead to worse things, if you get my drift.
