California had a proposition measure on the ballot five plus years ago (approx). It involved open primaries. I voted against it. At the time I didn’t realize that a loophole in it allowed two members of the same party to be the general election candidates. Well, it passed. We now have situations where there isn’t a Republican on the ballet for certain offices. Talk about one party rule.
