we stay because of family. but my wifes parents are normally MIA and in a few years, (hopefully I am wrong) my parents will be gone.
the anchor that holds us here has gone from a titanic sized one to a 12 ft row boat sized one.. As family members die off the reason to stay dies with them.
I understand. Husband and I have lost all 4 parents in the last 8 years. Hubs has sisters here but my only sibling has been overseas for 40 years. Not much anchoring us here after he retires except for my love of the midwest. I’m a weirdo! Love the people and love the seasons! It’s what I know.
