I live here and I've been saying that for a long time. It will be very hard for the rest of the US to make up our 38 electoral votes. That's a 76 EV switch. That's huge. With the swing happening in Florida as well because of Hurricane Maria (and the demographic shift that will follow)...its probably going to happen in the next 20 years.
But even so democrat locks over the past 20-30 years are changing. Think Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa and even Minnesota. Gone from blue to purple to red in many cases.
