He definitely leans more Libertarian, which is not entirely aligned with true-north Trump. I would not agree with 'comically idealized', however. But I think he had a better chance than Stewart will. Stewart's dishonesty leaves a bad taste.

Honestly, I think we have a long ways to go before we can find a candidate that can win Virginia back. Just my humble op.

That's a reasonable point of view. I think Virginia is difficult but winnable. Both Gillespie and Cuccinelli were closer than what many would have predicted. I think PDJT can win Virginia in 2020. Warner beat Gillespie in 2014 by 49.15% to 48.34%, less than 1%. I think with POTUS coattails we can win Warner's seat in 2020, but the VA GOP sucks. But I'm hopeful.
