The learning does come pretty quickly - at least to be able to handle a gun safely and with some accuracy on targets. I have no idea how I would hold up under stress. I did do okay at a recreational “move and shoot” thing one Saturday. (Action Shooting International - VERY friendly for beginners). “Really - this is the first time you’ve done one of these?” “Well, to tell you the truth, it’s been a couple of months since I last shot.” Unbelievable though how accurate and fast the instructors are!!
Our local range has ladies nights and my wife has gone a couple of times to try out various pistols (pistols for free, but must used their ammo which is pricy). She doesn’t like the hard pull of revolvers, 9mm she liked to shoot, but she might have a hard time clearing a jam. The .380 worked well for her, operating the slide and latch to keep it open, etc. Maybe try a smaller 9 mm next time that she might be able to work easier?
She is still learning, but likes it.
OMG, I’m a moron.
I only understood about half of what you are saying.
But it sounds like learning is fun?
