AND how did they know they could SAFELY leave it on the table and photograph it?
If it was a real bomb, or they THOUGHT it was, they would have run like sissies.
Shortly after the Murrah building bombing I was called to the lobby of the Post Office. At that time I was an Emergency Response Team trainer for the Grand Rapids USPS.
They had evacuated the lobby. None of the other USPS team members showed up, which wasn't unusual for perceived REAL incidents, so I got to go it alone.
What I found which caused all the panic was some HVAC contractor had forgotten a freon tank. It was by the door. It was so scary looking the Post Master didn't want it stored in the building while the contractor was notified to pick it up. I complied with her wishes and put it in my car. It was the old R22. It came in handy to recharge my sisters older home AC unit.
