Stratfor Chief Security Officer Fred Burton joined America’s Newsroom on Thursday morning to discuss the Democrat mail bomber.

Hemmer: Why do you think they’ll have this case cracked by the end of the day?
Fred Burton: I think as a former federal agent who has looked into cases like this we never had the resources in my day to deal with a problem like this. Now the entire system is geared to find people just like this. I think that now they have CCTV footage of the suspect. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re not watching somebody perhaps like we saw unfold in the Austin bomber. They’re just putting the pieces of the case together.

Actually, it was NBC news that blamed the unibubba, but iirc he never collected on suing their asses into the mud because he filed too late. Richard Jewel. He died of cancer soon afterwards.
The FBI suspected him because of the prevalence of the volunteer fireman-arsonists syndrome, where a first responder causes the problem he’s supposed to fix. Jewel became a hero, briefly, and was the only one who apparently benefited, but in fact he was just doing his job, and by doing it correctly he saved lives. I am sure that when he told people to clear out many thought he was being an alarmist and a pain in the rear end.

They had evacuated the lobby. None of the other USPS team members showed up, which wasn't unusual for perceived REAL incidents, so I got to go it alone.
What I found which caused all the panic was some HVAC contractor had forgotten a freon tank. It was by the door. It was so scary looking the Post Master didn't want it stored in the building while the contractor was notified to pick it up. I complied with her wishes and put it in my car. It was the old R22. It came in handy to recharge my sisters older home AC unit.
