Well, all you did was reinforce the notion that government CAN’T be trusted because politicians are liars who will say anything to get ahead.
You sunk consumer confidence in the government even lower.

Yep. If that person, and that’s the best I can call her, wanted to improve our trust in government, then she went down in flames. It had the opposite affect on me. I distrust government, even more now.
