As U.S. fertility rates collapse, finger-pointing and blame follow

As 2017 drew to a close, House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) urged Americans to have more children. To keep the country great, he said, we’re “going to need more people.”

“I did my part,” the father of three declared.

Ryan’s remarks drew some eye rolls at the time, but as new data about the country’s collapsing fertility rates has emerged, concern has deepened over what’s causing the changes, whether it constitutes a crisis that will fundamentally change the demographic trajectory of the country — and what should be done about it.

Women are now having fewer babies and at older ages than in the past three decades, a change that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) reported this year, and which was confirmed this week with the release of additional data that shows that the trend holds across races and for urban and rural areas.

The CDC said Wednesday that the total fertility rate — a theoretical figure that estimates the number of births a woman will have in her lifetime — fell by 18 percent from 2007 to 2017 in large metropolitan areas, 16 percent in smaller metro areas and 12 percent in rural areas. A similar downward trend holds for white, black and Hispanic women.

Fertility and birthrates are among the most closely monitored indicators of a country’s economic health. When too high, a surging youth population might be unable to find work and become susceptible to unrest. When too low, economies can rapidly contract, and a small working-age population has to support a large retired population. The United States is somewhat more buffered because of its relatively high levels of immigration, but if the decline in fertility continues, demographers say, the country may face an extreme population imbalance

Many of them aren’t choosing that at all. They’re saying that to put on a brave face.

Men aren’t interested anymore. The train load of crap that goes with a relationship and the law being stacked so heavily against said men, plus economic factors have caused a large percentage of young men to run the calculation and say “not worth it”.

As best I can tell, it’s a reasonable assessment.

Family is a far better investment for the latter half of your life than a career.

Tell that to parents in custodial care facilities whose kids refuse to visit.

Ryan just wants the flow of us citizen workers to keep going /paying in so he collects full S/S etc all that stuff as he gets older.

We got too many who don’t rightfully belong collecting already and too many more pouring in daily.

Studies say millennials are having less sex than previous generations, both in and out of marriage.

While that may be the case, the sex that is being engaged in is increasingly sterile.

Nothing is perfect - but having more than one or two kids make this far less likely. Especially if you actively teach your kids while they are young that they need to shoulder this responsibility.

In every country, the more education women have, the fewer children they have. Believe it or not, this is even happening in Turkey and Iran, much to the dismay of the mullahs. Read the book, “How Civilizations Die and Why Islam is Dying, Too”.

Japan and Germany are toast. In another 50 years, there won’t be enough women of childbearing age to save their societies.

The reason Islam is dying (according to the author) is because Islam is a tribal religion based more on clans than anything else and cannot survive in a modern world.

Can’t remember the exact quote/place but didn’t God tell us He would decrease our numbers as we headed for the end times?

That’s easy...no sex.

You can have all the sex you want, but it the woman is on birth control medication, you aren't getting any kids.

Sure - but in the end those retirees need an ever-growing “pyramid” to pay in at the bottom (to support a widening top) - and they’re fighting with those moochers for the tax revenues. ObamaCare was frightening because it cut Medicare while never explicitly excluding illegals and such from coverage (read: subsidies) - so American retirees were basically (and openly) thrown under the bus for the imported underclass that “officially” was being welcomed to fund their very retirements.

Many of these trafficked gibsmedats aren’t brough there to work; they are imported to keep neighborhoods and schools occupied in high-cost, business-hostile states - and their costs are being placed squarely on taxpayers (their housing, food, public school bills, etc.). This situation is devolving into massive funding for a new welfare underclass, and Americans (especially those working without deductions for homes and children) paying a heavy price for it. This time of the year, we see endless news stories of “book supplies giveaways” at large chain stores, and there are never white children receiving the items - just masses of non-white kids, and the supplies aren’t “free” - paying customers are simply having the costs transferred to THEIR purchases (whatever they may be).

Stop drinking from plastic bottles.

Estrogen-like chemicals leach from the plastic into the water causing a reduction in sperm production and feminization of males.
