I’ve been struggling recently with the entire topic of faith, the will of God, and how that impacts daily living.
I’m with you on the will to just kill them. I could see myself doing it, and then going off to have a snack, then a nap.
It struck me, when I had the very same thought you expressed, that I have very little faith in God.
It’s self-evident.
If I had faith, then my job is to encarcerate them and do the best job I can gathering the evidence and making sure it sticks.
Punishment, ultimately, belongs to God. I state that as an element of faith, but I have a tough time manifesting this confidently.
For example, do I believe these two are capable of salvation? Do people like this deserve eternal life with God in Heaven?
Very, very slippery slope there.
Because none of us do. We’re all unworthy, so the rest of the discussion is academic, regardless of the heinousness of the offenses; be it the slaughter of Jews or the exploitation of innocent 3 year old girls for sex.
I pray she never grows up with any memory of it.
It’s an interesting thing you bring up, the notion of just revenge.
You got me thinking, and praying actually.
Thank you for that.
We are to pray for people like these, but it is difficult. It is human to want revenge.
Millstone, depths of the sea.
That is what God commands government to do.
There comes a time when just kill them all becomes the right answer. Pedo for example (some I cant say because its become mainstream protected mental illness).... I dont understand why all this evil is allowed to exist with us but yet we are told to celebrate it all.
