So out of curiosity who do you think is the front runner?

So far, if you believe the MSM, Biden appears to be the front runner. Ironically, that’s simultaneously easy and hard to believe based on the state of the Democratic party.

It’s hard to believe because the party has lunged so far Left and has so many mentally challenged, bomb-throwers like Booker and Harris. Also, its on to imagine them nominating an Old White Straight Male (just the kind of people they insist are irrelevant).

On the other hand, that is also why it is so easy to believe. Biden is a clown, but compared to everyone else in the field, he comes off looking like the good, sane alternative. However, I do not expect that he’ll get the nomination as he won’t “excite” minorities enough.

Despite his popularity, I don’t think Bernie has a chance in Hades of getting the nomination. Just like in 2016, he will run & get a good following, get screwed out of delegates, and end up supporting the nominee in exchange for some under-the-table payout.

No, it's very easy to believe at this stage that Biden is the front runner. He has just about 100% name id recognition at this point. If you look at any front runner poll a couple years out it is almost always based on name id recognition. It's hard for us to believe, but large swaths of the public don't follow this as closely so when asked they pick the name they know. This person rarely gets the nomination though.

You are on the right track with the state of the party. It's going to be a real dyed in the wool lefty in the Bernie Sanders mode. Unfortunately for Bernie, he's much too old and pale to be get the nomination given the current state of the Democratic party. It will almost have to be a minority or a woman or both based on how they are going.

One prediction I will make though is that the Dems learned from the pubbies last time. They will not clear the field for any candidate. They will let the candidates fight it out and have 20 candidates up there for a debate on TV, just like the pubbies had 16 at one point. That will be must watch TV as they try to all veer towards Marx/Engles/Lennen et al... you know old dead white guys.....
