From Greenfield we have this:
The media didnt show any of the hysterical outrage at these crimes that it has over the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi. The media cares more about Khashoggi, a former media mouthpiece of the Saudi regime before it turned on his Muslim Brotherhood brothers, than about 300 Turkish reporters.
Its not hypocrisy, its consistency.
That really resonated with me. He is spot on with this. I saw an eye-opening talk early last year from a Turkish newspaper editor now living here in exile. Abdülhamit Bilici would be jailed at best if he were still in Turkey. He barely got out of the country with his family and his life.
Turkey has gone from being a quasi-Democracy (his words) to a complete autocracy in the last several years. He was editor of the largest Turkish newspaper, Zaman, circulation ~1,000,000, until it was taken over by the government a couple years ago now, and ultimately shut down.
The video he had of the takeover of Zaman was quite sobering. This is what totalitarianism looks like.

Yay, Erdogan. Its time to kick Turkey out of NATO.
Story on the newspapers takeover from a 2-1/2 years ago.

So Greenfield nails it - why was Khashoggi on the loose in Turkey, when Turkey has literally been imprisoning, torturing, and killing journalists for the last several years? And why is our media so quick to advocate for him and Turkey?
Why, indeed? Seth Rich actually WORKED for the Rats and not one of them cared about him.
Yes, this story is basically about the media, not about the real-world events.
