No one runs things any better in this state than Rick Scott those who doubt what strong storms can do just have not had the experience of being in one.The only reason there is not more damage than there is was because the forward speed prevented a catastrophe worse than it was.

Agree. Gov. Scott did an excellent job with preparation, staging assets before the storm made landfall and repeatedly warning folks to get out of the path of the storm.

Glad to hear something positive about Rick Scott. So little substantial info makes it out here.
That must have been the speediest hurricane in my memory? It's already, one day later, up in VA?? So that combination of warm gulf water along with speed and that 920 number made it ultra dangerous? Is that right? As well as that perfect cat's eye? I didn't want to ask during the storm but what was that blackness around the eye in the radar shots?
