I wouldn’t trust Flake or rosenweasel on anything.
I doubt that DJT would talk to Rosenstein on AF1 if he were about to can him. Unless, of course, he’s planning to push him out of the plane...
I don’t credit conspiracy theories.
Let Democrats believe in them.
I think that’s a stretch. Occam’s razor. Coons and other Dems cornered Flake after the elevator incident and convinced him there was no harm in giving them this.
The harm unfortunately will be to future nominees. Look for endless delays and repeated demands for last-minute FBI investigations.
I’m sure some things were going on behind the scenes.
With time, we will learn more about it.
Just as with the passage of time, we will learn more about how the character assassination of Brett Kavanaugh was developed, how Democrats decided to pull it off, which Democrats besides Feinstein had their fingerprints all.over it, etc.
I think the Repubs gave into the dems & Flake.

Nah....the only thing that was up was UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES. They NEVER EXPECTED this outcome from this additional delaying tactic.
Comey was gung ho on an FBI investigation. Maybe he and Rosenweasel thought they had some info planted that agents would find.
Still don’t trust Rosenweasel. At all.
Very true on the unintended consequences, but I’d back it up just a bit.
1. The didn’t expect a Kavanaugh pushback
2. They didn’t expect a president fighting for his nominee
3. They didn’t count on McConnell’s commitment to push this nominee through.
The Dems are gonna need a new playbook, cause the one they are using now is out of date.

The whole thing was predicated on Kavanaugh withdrawing or Trump pulling the nomination. Once those things didn’t happen they really started to scramble.
If this was a deep state Rosenweasel operation then the FBI reports would have come back with something that really WOULD have caused Flake and Collins to vote no.
Totally not buying it. We came usually close to completely blowing it, and it would have been on Flake.
My mind still boggles at this:

Flake served a purpose here, by accident.

Here is another idea: Suppose Rosenstein was an inside agent for Trump? Baiting people like McCabe and Comey? I doubt it, but its an interesting idea.
They thought Kav would withdraw under the smear.
He didn’t , so they doubled down and it blew
