Ford's allegations were as weak as they possible could be. The supposed assault had never been reported to the police or anyone else for 36 years. There was no hard evidence backing it up. Ford's supposed witnesses contradicted or refused to confirm her account. There were many other signs that her account was false. Ford is a partisan Democrat, and Democrats were desperate to stop Kavanaugh's confirmation, providing plenty of motive for Ford to lie.
Yet despite all that, leftists do not question Ford's motives, and they find her story to be "highly credible." They want to believe, and that is always good enough for them, reality be damned.

police report witnesses. He says well Kavanaugh has a
drinking and temperament problem. I says
aren’t you a believer in redemption and 2nd chances Etc.
Eventually it comes down to I don’t like his
politics and blah blah about abortion and not that
the flow of last minute allegations were contrived
but should have come forward sooner.
