I bet a whole lot of people would change their mind if their husband, significant other, brother,father, uncle, nephew, cousin or good friend was accused with no evidence. Just, “He did it.” They can’t tell you anything else. We all would not accept that.
You cannot wantonly ruin someone’s life with no hard evidence. Just like false accusations of child abuse/child sexual abuse.......that false accusation lingers in people’s mind.
And if we’re honest most of us know someone in our past or right now who we could imagine falsely accusing someone. Very scary stuff.
I believe that there are far more women in this country who are more upset by the possibility of a false accusation against a male who they care about than there are women who are enraged by the “treatment” of Ford.
