He couldn’t do anything else. West Virginian Democrats are old-school New Deal Democrats; populist, union, socially conservative mountain people. Trump is putting WV back to work and if Manchin gets in the way of that train he’ll get run over. West Virginian Democrats are exactly the type of Democrat voter that Trump resonates with.
