It was Eldin, and the actor who portrayed him, Robert Pastorelli, passed away in 2004 from a drug overdose (he long had had problems with such things).

I just got an email from a Freeper that the actor had committed suicide. Very sad.
You see how little I pay attention to such things. And there is no reason anymore to watch Murphy Brown.
