There is this sick thing that happens where if you go thirty years without a claim, their actuarial tables start flagging you as due for one, so they drop you.

I have read insurance blogs which advise you to make some small homeowners claim every ten years or so to avoid this.

Wow. I never heard of that. Oddly, I’d had St John’s homeowners insurance less than a year when the spray nozzle kitchen sink fitting failed and soaked my kitchen and, through the walls, my bathroom. It dinged St John’s for over ten thousand dollars to remediate. State Farm got out just in time. LOL.
