I remember Potomac Village as far back as the mid-1980s. I was a Safeway by then.

Before running with the notion that it wasn’t always a Safeway, it should be confirmed one way or other.

That was what I read. The Albertson’s became a Safeway. IIRC they were owned by the same company. Alberson’s was just a higher end Safeway. IIRC what I read was it was not a Safeway until the mid 80s.

The shopping carts at the Safeway were corralled outside. CBF said she went inside the store and saw Mark Judge organizing shopping carts. She lied. Why would he collect them from the parking lot and navigate them into the store only to turn around and put them in the fenced in coral outside the entrance There was also a Deli that sold Kegs of beer across the street. There was also a very small grocer called the Potomac Grocer where everyone got custom cuts of beef.
