Not at all. Flake is an idiot. He needs a serious talking-to. If Flake is the only Republican to vote against confirmation, the Senate will vote 50-50. That would result in Vice President Pence casting the tiebreaking vote. Guess which way he would vote.

No, this gives Murkowski and Collins an excuse to join Flake.
Remember, for these two women, abortion is a religion, and they will vote against Kavanaugh using the excuse that they weren’t given enough time for an FBI investigation.
Getting an approving vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination will be Mitch McConnell’s legacy. He has not done too well so far, and this will be his one and last redeeming chance to be remembered for something good.
