His crying was genuine but it sure seemed odd to me. I guess because my reaction to attack runs more towards rage and vengeance and heads on stakes.
But then I remember Senator Muskie crying way back in the 1972 race when he was barraged by accusations aimed at his wife. Muskie wasn’t anybody’s idea of a wimp, but the crying hurt his campaign.
