I’m glad you read the fine print! Beer is getting so much stronger these days! But you have to read the label to know.

I stopped drinking beer in Germany, when the heffe weissen made me gain 20 pounds and get on the Army fat-boy list!

I’ve been fighting this ever since! I was 6’1”, 165 lbs when I joined the Army. After basic training - when the only escape from the drill sergeants was mess hall eating - I was 200 lbs in no time.

But I was in shape! The drill sergeants made sure of that!

But when I got to Germany, chair-borne intelligence analyst that I was, I was quickly on the fat-boy list after I tasted the beer there (and had it delivered by the case to my house).

For ten years, I’ve had to run 2.5 miles 3 times a week to wage war on the battle of the of the bulge!

Be careful with beer! Especially weissen!
