Mitchell was a front to give an optic that “White heterosexual men” are not attacking the witness.

I did not like that strategy since this empowers more bullcrap down the line and letting false allegations without corroborating evidence go unpunished (I believe Kavanaugh may have had a hand in that strategy). Judiciary committee just wanted survive and keep their powder dry to go after dems during the Kavanaugh phase after Mitchell was done after 10 minutes.

Kav did a great job filibustering the bullcrap dems spewed with an assist by Grassley at times, however dems still have their base riled up.

The hearings went a lot better once the Arizonian prosecutor was out of the way though.
