Would South Korea, Japan, or Taiwan want to have their own tropical islands? As long as we can keep the Pearl Harbor naval base, Hawaii can go away. This is the United States of America after all. The Hawaiian Islands are not part of the North American continent, and are as alien, or perhaps more so, as Puerto Rico.
