Or not. If Linda is truly surprised, then he probably mirrors the reactions the others are having as well. So, while Grassley may have initially been caught off-guard, each subsequent 'reveal' in the unfolding farce simply reinforces what so many now have concluded:
This is an orchestrated wholesale attack on American governance, rule of law, jurisprudence and our ability to rationally (and peacefully) conduct a system of self government. By allowing further, ongoing exploitation, Grassley is letting the malicious intent to become progressively more undeniable to even the most apologetic.
That's what Linda's comment really means: the duh! moment when the light bulb suddenly goes on, and you realize all the game playing that was allowed to sully the reputation of the Senate just got really serious. Like the future of American institutions, customs and the ability to peacefully govern serious ...
