White House Press Office Hits Back At New Yorker Story On Brett Kavanaugh
Deadline ^

Posted on 09/24/2018 1:55:48 AM PDT by TigerClaws

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ALLEGATIONS MADE IN THE NEW YORKER ARTICLE ON JUDGE BRETT KAVANAUGH

“This alleged event from 35 years ago did not happen. The people who knew me then know that this did not happen, and have said so. This is a smear, plain and simple. I look forward to testifying on Thursday about the truth, and defending my good name—and the reputation for character and integrity I have spent a lifetime building—against these last-minute allegations.” – Judge Brett Kavanaugh

ADVERTISING

The accuser, Deborah Ramirez, admits in The New Yorker’s piece that there were “significant gaps” in her memories about the event.

“She was at first hesitant to speak publicly, partly because her memories contained gaps because she had been drinking at the time of the alleged incident.” “Ramirez acknowledged that there are significant gaps in her memories of the evening…”

By The New Yorker’s own admission, Ramirez was reluctant to speak with certainty on the allegation.

“In her initial conversations with The New Yorker, she was reluctant to characterize Kavanaugh’s role in the alleged incident with certainty.”

It took six days of “assessing her memories” for Ramirez to say she recalled Kavanaugh committing the alleged incident, and that came only after consulting with an attorney provided by the Democrats.

“After six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney, Ramirez said that she felt confident enough of her recollections…” “Senate aides from Ramirez’s home state of Colorado alerted a lawyer, Stanley Garnett, a former Democratic district attorney in Boulder, who currently represents her.”

The New Yorker admits it has not confirmed through eyewitnesses Kavanaugh was even present at the party and other students who knew Kavanaugh said they never heard of the incident.

“The New Yorker has not confirmed with other eyewitnesses that Kavanaugh was present at the party.” “In a statement, two of those male classmates who Ramirez alleged were involved in the incident, the wife of a third male student she said was involved, and three other classmates, Dino Ewing, Louisa Garry, and Dan Murphy, disputed Ramirez’s account of events…” “We were the people closest to Brett Kavanaugh during his first year at Yale. He was a roommate to some of us, and we spent a great deal of time with him, including in the dorm where this incident allegedly took place.” “Some of us were also friends with Debbie Ramirez during and after her time at Yale. We can say with confidence that if the incident Debbie alleges ever occurred, we would have seen or heard about it—and we did not.”

Further, those classmates said that the allegations in the story would be completely out of character for Kavanaugh.

“The behavior she describes would be completely out of character for Brett.”

A former student who was best friends with Ramirez said she never told her about the incident despite how close they were.

“The former friend who was married to the male classmate alleged to be involved, and who signed the statement, said of Ramirez, ‘This is a woman I was best friends with. We shared intimate details of our lives. And I was never told this story by her, or by anyone else. It never came up. I didn’t see it; I never heard of it happening.’”

I can't verify this is from the WH Press Office, but Deadline is reporting it.

More damning is the New York Times spoke to TWO DOZEN witnesses and said none could back the events described in the NYer piece ever took place.

Many powerful folks (Weinstein; NBC) have been gunning for Ronan Farrow. Look for this to blow up in Ronan's face.

It’s actually a crime to put people who commit perjury.

Could also lose his license to practice law if proved he knew OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN the testimony was false. There’s a federal statute lying to U.S. Senate is a crime.

As alcoholics who frequently goe Debra Norville Blacked Out, they should consider bringing their respective AA sponsors to this circus for support and to aid in her sobriety...

They might consider taking an Uber since their usual clown car would be an embarrassment...

"The classmate, like Ramirez, recalled that the party took place in a common room on the first floor in Entryway B of Lawrance Hall, during their freshman year. “I’ve known this all along,” he said. “It’s been on my mind all these years when his name came up. It was a big deal.” The story stayed with him, he said, because it was disturbing and seemed outside the bounds of typically acceptable behavior, even during heavy drinking at parties on campus.

****

The classmate said that he had been shocked, but not necessarily surprised, because the social group to which Kavanaugh belonged often drank to excess. He recalled Kavanaugh as “relatively shy” until he drank, at which point he said that Kavanaugh could become “aggressive and even belligerent.”

*****

This is the part from the article that bothers me the most for Kavanaugh.

All of us know guys like that. I've known many. I'm 71 years old was in a fraternity at Pitt back in the 60's ..... and that type of guy was not uncommon. You avoided drinking with them.

Fear not.

Nobody backs this story and it’s b.s.

This is also the chance for some very powerful and connected people to BLOW RONAN FARROW OUT OF THE WATER.

Weinstein and his friends are gunning for Ronan. NBC. Anyone he’s ever ‘exposed’ or bashed.

These are rich, powerful, grudge-carrying people with deep media connections.

This is their ‘kill shot’ on Ronan’s career. That’s worth more to them than blocking Kavanaugh.

Watch the fireworks.

Bring popcorn.

I suggest that everyone who wishes to learn more of what MAY BE true about Brett Kavanuagh should read the entire New Yorker story.

It could be the greatest hit job I've seen in a long time or it's damn true.

I’ve seen opinion pieces the last few days that say even if Kavanaugh is innocent he should withdraw his nomination...

that Kavanaugh bears the burden of proving he’s innocent...

that the level of proof required to disqualify Kavanaugh is a ‘credible allegation’ (so just about every spin MSM story uses the phrase ‘credible allegation).

This NYer piece is going to fall apart.

Ford will fall apart Thursday.

We hit the darkness before the dawn. The accusers are going to be shut up.

Trump is a street fighter and he will bash back. He’s not going to let his nominee go down in flames. He’s the hero we deserve!

“The story stayed with him, he said, because it was disturbing...”

Interesting. Even this classmate just knows it as a “story”. it doesn’t say “The incident stayed with him...”, or “The events of that night....” It is the “story”

Yes. It’s a classic piece of bs.

Ronan is a MAJOR target for well-connected people like Weinstein. They’re going to roast him over this.

Some lowlights:

The New Yorker has not confirmed with other eyewitnesses that Kavanaugh was present at the party.

One of the male classmates who Ramirez said egged on Kavanaugh denied any memory of the party. “I don’t think Brett would flash himself to Debbie, or anyone, for that matter,” he said. Asked why he thought Ramirez was making the allegation, he responded, “I have no idea.” The other male classmate who Ramirez said was involved in the incident commented, “I have zero recollection.”

Ramirez said that she remained silent about the matter and did not fully confront her memories about it for years because she blamed herself for drinking too much.

***

Notice the pivot both in the reporting and in the direction the Dems are going:

The Party Scene. The party scene at the time of the alleged incident is now on trial. Look at all the crazy stuff all these boys did back then.

Not ONE witness to the ‘penis slap’ incident he’s been accused with. Her best friend said Ramirez never mentioned it at all to her. (Same with Ford, btw. Other girl at the party never heard of the incident.)

The pivot is to the toxic male culture at the prep school and now college.

You’re right. It’s a sleazy bit of b.s. meant to grab headlines and back up the other false story.

6 days x 8 hours x $800/hr lawyer = $38,400

Who paid for this woman?

Ford has a team of lawyers and consultants. Who is paying for all that?

I think we’ve reached Peak B.S.

Trump is going to fight back. The stories are going to unravel.

BOTH Ford and Ramirez made the mistake of... WITNESSES.

They mentioned other people seeing this event. None of the supposed witnesses are backing up their version of events. That’s an unraveling of a lie.

‘Kavanaugh could become “aggressive and even belligerent.”‘

The disgusting part is that it opens the door for other frauds to emerge.

...And other fakes, for conservative candidates and appointees from now on. (But not for libs; the MSM won’t address them anymore.)

Nearly everyone has a time of harmless fun. Not only are most of these events unprovable, but the Left is trying to change the definition of “harmless”.

At some point, Grassley needs to stand up, and explain why this witch hunt stops now.

“The” anonymous “classmate,” if he exists and really heard it from yet another anonymous person, stated hearsay and an accusation against Kavanaugh’s character. That looks bad on him and Ramirez.

THIS JUST IN: an unconfirmed rumor is that the Capitol Hill pizza delivery boy is set to come forward.

He’s not sure.....but last week when he was delivering a meatball pizza with extra cheese to the office of Cory Booker,
he thinks he saw Chuck Schumer giving an intern oral sex in the Congressional cloak room.

When the pizza guy saw him, Schumer was making suspicious motions and licking his lips......
but that could have been from the enticing aroma of the hot pizza.

Schumer is known to have a weakness for meatball pizza.

"I think we’ve reached Peak B.S."

IMO, now that it's already gone too far, let it go all the way. Let's do this. The more, the merrier. I'm starting to enjoy the sideshow, because it's getting more interesting.

So finally, we know what happened to Jimmy Hoffa, and Brett was only a kid back then!

The more the left parades out these made up accusations, the weaker their smear campaign becomes. One bimbo is an eye-roller, piling on two or more only proves how desperate they are. Sex is the only play they have in their dogeared playbook.
