You can even buy stamps at a lot of grocery stores now.

I buy stamps all the time; all my billing is done by mail, all my personal correspondence is done with HAND WRITTEN LETTERS.
Guess I just prefer the personal touch.
I go through probably 300 to 400 stamps a year.

YUP; the Post Office is where you go to post a letter.
I go to mine once a week, to POST my letters, and to pick up my mail.

And if they don’t know how to write cursive, then we don’t want them voting anyway, right?

Let me answer your question this way: I'm not going to drive my truck all the way to the loafer's bench in town to pick up a load of voters and drive them half-a-quarter to the polls if I suspect they have failed their responsibilities as citizens to be informed on current events.
Now, if there is a shut-in that is actually interested in voting, arrangements will be made.

I guess it's safe to say you two aren't typical college students.
Anyhow, I don't think I've mailed anything domestically in the past five years.
