Clarence Thomas went through hell and back, but got his revenge in the end by being a brilliant jurist whose written opinions and their effect on our legal history will outlast all of the tired lines about Coke cans and dirty movies.
History, when written and read by thinking people, tends to dilute the nonsense.

You’re absolutely right about Thomas. I read his autobiography this summer and came to really love and admire him. The best chapters in the book are the nomination process/Anita Hill lies.
