Actually this theory raises some “Reasonable Doubt” questions.
I am thinking this guy came forward he has NOTHING to lose at this time, it was 36 years ago, it was NOT rape and what the hell teenage boy didn’t try to get in some girls pants back then and today, GIVE ME A BREAK!!! I think this guy has retained his friendship with Kavanaugh all of these years as all these kids seem to have done!! When he heard this story realized it was him and NOT Kavanaugh didn’t want to have to come out unless absolutely necessary and found the correct channel to go through. The floor plan of the house, the story being lined up with the floor plan I think this guy gave the information!!! When the left finds out they have the WRONG guy they will NEVER want to go near this guy they will ALL pretend nothing EVER HAPPENED story over MOVE ON!!! This guy goes back to his teaching job in Georgia no harm no foul!!!!
I read he’s told 3 associates that his confidence level is close to 100% on this. Given who he is, and his background, if he were just putting together a viable suspect - he’d know it’s an attempt at convincing people at 51%, not 100. So if it’s true his colleagues really heard that from him - I suspect he’s talked to Garrett or somebody that could give some verification that the scenario fits Garrett and has more info that he’s shared.
