Not true. GE acquired NBC back in the 80's. In 2011 they agreed to sell to Comcast. There was a period of joint ownership but Comcast has been the sole owner of NBC since sometime in 2013. GE is out of the picture.

GE sold all of its stake in NBC to Comcast years ago. Comcast is an independent company.
