That's actually the most straightforward explanation I've heard. Corporate bad actors give capitalism a bad name, and the public starts grasping for "anything else".

The worst of those ‘corporate bad actors’ are billion dollar marxists who insist that everyone should pay more taxes, live in a smaller footprint home, use public transport, and have the same universal public healthcare service, NONE of which they themselves will submit to.
