President Trump on Monday ordered the declassification of several key documents related to the FBI's probe of Russian actions during the 2016 presidential election, including 21 pages of an application for a renewed surveillance warrant against former campaign aide Carter Page, and text messages from disgraced FBI figures Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Trump had ordered the documents released "[a]t the request of a number of committees of Congress, and for reasons of transparency."
The documents to be declassified also include 12 FBI reports on interviews with Justice Department official Bruce Ohr and all FBI reports of interviews prepared in connection with all other applications to surveil Carter Page.
Trump also ordered the Justice Department to release text messages from a number of the key players in the Russia investigation "without redaction" -- including Ohr, Strzok, Lisa Page, former FBI Director James Comey and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
It was not immediately clear when or how the documents would be released. Congressional sources told Fox News that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., does not know how soon he will get the documents, but said Trump's order covers "pretty much everything that he wanted ... and the text messages are a bonus."
According to the sources, Nunes added: "Wow! This is a direct order."

The President has Constitutional authority to declassify anything he chooses. If Sessions/Rosenstein disobey a direct order from the President regarding such a request, I would suspect a conversation something like this:
"Mr. Sessions you have 2 choices, fire Rosenstein and execute my request or I will fire you and Rosenstein and replace you with someone who will respect my office and the Constitution. You decide NOW what you will do!
Yes, I can.
Can Donald Trump is the question. Will he use U.S. Marshals? Will he invoke the Insurrection Act? Will he call forth the Militia of the several States?
Time will tell.
Yes, I thing Rosenstein would rather refuse the order and get fired.
Good, Jim, I’m sincerely glad to hear that, and I want you to know that I also can do this, and so can President Trump.
We may well be on a path towards a storm, but this is a war that must be fought and won by the good guys, because the bad guys are not going to stop.
I’m going to pray for Donald Trump. He is Patton.
Either way it should be game over for the chinless nerd.
Finally, a Republican who knows how to play hardball.
Let’s see if DOJ is going to run to court to try to block this.
Light! Watch the subhuman cockroaches scatter.
I do not believe Rosenstein will obey the declassification order.
Is there any reason the President does not already have all this just waiting for the time to release it?
We are indeed living in interesting times.
In 1991 we all watched live as tanks were moved into Moscow in a coup attempt. I am not saying there will be tanks in Washington but we are watching a coup d’etat in slow motion.
There are so many crimes of sedition and treason by the LIB/DIMs that the supply of ammunition is almost without limit. Go, President Trump, GO!
I do not believe Rosenstein will obey the declassification order.
Then fire him for insubordination. He will lose his pension.
Which is just fine with me.
L
Hill’ry was talking about tanks in the streets.
This POTUS uses a 12 gage street sweeper, not a musket.
Can democrats try to stop this in the courts? Repubs need to get it out tonight.
There is a third trail ... deep state operatives disappear the relevant documents as a computer glitch and are then not prosecuted because the GOP lacks the testicles to infuriate the media whoredom.
Wheres the Ha Ha! kid?
Do repubs on the committee investigating have unredacted copies of everything?
Contempt of Congress.
Rosenstein has nothing to lose by defying the order. Release of the FISA docs will implicate him in a crime anyway.
Haven’t Nunes and other committee members already seen the unredacted documents? All they have to do is fill in the blanks.
Sorry Hillary: Trump has all the tanks.
