Kinda reminds me of PR back in the early 70’, homes were wood built up off the ground with a front porch, if family were wealthy enough to own a refrigerator it was displayed on the front porch.

Iran Sanctions Threaten India’s Plans for Chabahar Port

India’s proposed $500 million investment at the port of Chabahar has already been delayed by negotiations over terms, but it now faces a larger threat: the reimposition of U.S. sanctions on Iran.

Chabahar, a small Iranian port on the Gulf of Oman, could provide India with a new trade link to Afghanistan and Central Asia, bypassing the current routes through Pakistan. India’s government expects that this would open up billions of dollars in trade, and it has committed $500 million to build two berths at the port, plus $1.6 billion for a 400-mile rail link from Chabahar to Afghanistan. An Indian-run port would also offset growing Chinese influence in Pakistan, where China operates the port of Gwadar.

In October 2017, India sent an initial consignment of wheat to Afghanistan through Chabahar, and in February it signed an initial lease for the port’s operation. The 18-month contract was described as an interim measure until the Indian operator bought its own cargo handling equipment, but Indian officials allege that Iran has repeatedly changed the terms of the port deal.

Chabahar Port now faces a larger, external challenge. The Trump administration has withdrawn the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (also known as the Iran nuclear deal), and previously-lifted sanctions on Iran are entering into effect once more. An initial set of American sanctions were reimposed on August 7, and stricter measures targeting Iran’s ports, shipping, shipbuilding and petroleum sectors will take effect again on November 5.

If India cannot secure a sanctions waiver for the Chabahar project, it will have to halt work or risk a dispute with the United States. Cancellations or delays at the port would hurt not just Indian shipping interests, but also Afghan businesses and foreign aid recipients, and the government of Afghanistan is also in discussions about a U.S. waiver for Chabahar.

“The Afghan, Indian and Iranian governments have held several meetings over the past few months about Chabahar and work is ongoing regarding a specific plan and proposal to make sure that at least that section of the port, which is shared by these countries, is not affected by US sanctions against Iran,” government spokesman Haroon Chakhansuri told Afghani outlet Tolo News. “There is some optimism around this.”

Yes, but I have to reword my searches somewhat around my aim of search...crazy...I broke it down to......India and the ports on the Indian Sea...which isn't even on the Indian sea but Gulf of Orman...????..Google isn't search friendly I know. I use Bing too.

The emerging economies Russia and India, are interested in increasing cooperation, which could result in a greater trade turnover and wider use of ruble and rupee in trade.

“In recent years, bilateral trade has gained steady growth rate… I hope, we will be able to reach the target level of $30 billion in the coming years,” said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov at a meeting with Indian Minister of External affairs Sushma Swaraj in Moscow.

Borisov noted that $30 billion is still a modest figure compared to a $100 billion trade with China, which should be reached this year.

The countries are interested in increasing share of ruble and rupee in bilateral settlements, the Russian Deputy PM noted. “The expansion of settlements in national currencies is planned. Today, the share of settlements in rubles for exports is 20 percent, and for imports, about 21 percent,” he said.

Swaraj, in a statement after the meeting said: “India and Russia enjoy a special and privileged strategic partnership.”

“This partnership has strengthened over time and covers a vast agenda involving almost all spheres of human activity. India attaches the highest importance to its relations with Russia”.

India is one of the largest buyers of Russian arms, with $65 billion in deals signed over the whole cooperation, and the country will buy $4 billion of Russian arms this year.

The countries are also promoting tourism in both directions, and discussing the possibilities of working together on projects in other countries.

As China launches their own yuan-and-gold-backed oil exchange, it’s easy to dismiss as simple political maneuvering. Anything China can do to knock the USD down a few pegs, to get it further away from the singular dominant world currency of trade, helps bolster their world leadership profile while lessening that of the US.

But the reason the USD became the world’s oil currency was because the US imported more oil than anyone else and Kissinger negotiated the condition, primarily with its main supplier, Saudi Arabia. Now? China is the main importer and its main supplier is Russia. The US is no longer in position to call the shots for the world oil market.

The US dollar has been dominant as the global reserve currency for a century. It was backed by gold, and the phrase, “good as gold,” had a literal meaning. Each dollar bill was worth its equivalent in physical gold. This made the dollar the world’s most respected and accepted currency.

But let’s consider - what is the objective?

When it comes to ‘Draining the Swamp’, the scale of the challenge facing Trump is immense.

Or, as @dbongino pointed out in his most recent podcast, what if many are against legit terrorists? A culture where cooked evidence was the norm?

It’s easy for us to say ‘round them all up.’ But consider :
4. There’s a real risk that this destroys the FBI & DOJ.

Here’s another problem.
5. The same spooks reveal that Obama illegally spied on THOUSANDS of US citizens.

And then turned government agencies on them, such as the IRS.

The society could fall apart. And imagine the litigation against the government.

Some may say ‘GOOD. They deserve it.’

WRONG.
6. If the nation falls apart under the weight of what Obama (and to be fair, Bush to a certain extent) did, that means Trump LOSES.

Trump follows the teachings of Sun Tzu. That’s proven. And his #1 advice is that great warriors capture the enemy’s territory INTACT.

And have no fear - there IS a strategy in place. And it’s working.
11. Trump will be 100% aware that his base wants PUBLIC punishment of the criminals.

He also wants a Congressional majority after these mid-terms. The toxification of the Democrats is happening, 24/7.

BUT he must be careful.
12. Careful not to lose the many independents who’ve secretly committed to vote #MAGA , or to abandon the Dems.

So what I think we will see BEFORE the mid-terms:

- declassification of the FISA (with 302s)
- indictment of Comey - he is loathed by both sides
- end of Mueller SC
13. These 3 actions, with a cascading torrent of 24/7 revelations starting to bring in other key players (Yates, Lynch etc) with hints of what’s to come (Obama, Clinton) - plus new revelations of corrupt Dems in Congress - will be enough to tip the balance in the mid-terms.
14. My prediction? If everyone votes (and you must), the Democratic Party will be a ruined shell on Nov 7.

That’s just my POV.

But even if he just gets a solid majority, that will permit Trump to go on true OFFENSE. To get rid of the rot and re-build.

One other thing.
15. Don’t be under any illusion - Trump will DEFINITELY go after Clinton & Obama.

He knows they were out to destroy him and his family. Plus, he will NEVER forgive them, for what they did.

Trump also knows that it’s a zero sum game. They will destroy him, if given a chance.
16. The ultimate quarry is Obama.

Clinton? Yes, Trump will probably demand her indictment. But he’s got a special hatred for Obama.

Trump’s REVENGE on Obama will be EPIC, RUTHLESS and EXTREME. Of course, it’s all planned already. You can take that to the bank.

One word? FEAR.

Obama and his crew are going down, BIGLY.
