This is why people dont want to leave. LEO cant have it both ways. If they want people to be comfortable with leaving, then they damned well better protect their homes from looting.
I know a woman and her adult daughter who live on the Northeast coast of Florida.
Last year, the hurricane was predicted to hit the East Coast of Florida. Instead, it hammered Key West and then came ashore, weaker, on the West Coast of Florida, near Naples.
Meanwhile, this woman and her daughter evacuated to Tennessee. Not sure why they went there; they made have had relatives in that state.
There was little if any damage in Northeast Florida, but when they came home they discovered that one or more criminals had broken into their home and stole jewelry, electronics, etc.
Like you said, no wonder people don’t want to leave.
