I really think Kavanaugh did not come off well and needs to answer the flipping question unless it is somehow privileged information.

I think Kamala Harris came off really badly as a sleazebag demonicRAT trying to trap someone in a manufactured ‘process crime’. It should be obvious to anybody with a three-digit IQ that the demonicRATs’ anti-Trump strategy has ‘process crime’ as a major component.

I think Kavanaugh should call out all leading and presumptuous questions. Then he should mention that the “Ginsburg” rule precludes him from discussing matters which might come up in, or be a part of future cases. He can’t know what he might thing until he hears all arguments and evidence.

"I really think Kavanaugh did not come off well and needs to answer the flipping question unless it is somehow privileged information."

He's said he's discussed the case and asked her to be more specific and name a name. She wouldn't do that. Could she not have asked the question such as, did you discuss this with 'x'? If he said yes, she could have said, do you realize 'x' works for the 'y' law firm?

This is Washington D.C. and everyone's a lawyer and they do work for multiple law firms and are possibly switching between working for law firms all the time. How is he supposed to keep track of who works for what law firm? She could have been fishing you know?

I think what she was trying to get at is for him to say he gave an opinion to someone who worked for a law firm representing Trump. The opinion may have had to do with something like he didn't think the President could be subpoenaed in a grand jury investigation. If she could have got that, he would have had to recuse himself if that case ever (and it may possibly do so) come to the Supreme Court.

He looked like a 5 year old getting caught with his hands in the proverbial cookie jar ...

How can he answer a nonspecific question with a specific answer? Why doesn’t she give a name if she wants a specific answer?

Grasping at straws. Harris needs to provide the name. Booker did something similar reading from a 16 year old email Kavanaugh had been cc’d on and couldn’t be given a copy to see the context to refresh his memory.

No doubt Harris was tipped off by someone about the conversation and is now trying to suck Kavanaugh into lying about it. It won’t work. Several Dems on the committee have already pressed Kavanaugh to commit to recuse himself from any future matter dealing with Trump that may come before the court.

I think he handled himself well considering the nature of the question...

Pick any company you do business with and tell me name of someone who works there ?

Are you Harris’ alter ego. These are gigantic firms and it would be foolhardy to go for an easy answer when the truth is that you don’t know all the lawyers that work there or have worked there in the last 3 years. Kavanaugh was careful and precise.

needs to answer the flipping question

Seriously, answer a loaded question with who knows what name behind it? There are dozens of attorneys at each of the hundreds of agencies in and around DC. She could have one person in mind, who mentioned an off hand remark to Kavanaugh about Mueller at some kind of conference, dinner, luncheon, etc. Then, when he says "no", he has perjured himself because he didn't know this particular attorney worked there.

Why? Are you insane? The question is a trap.

Harris is a whore that screwed her way to the top in SF, a communist and is laying a perjury trap.

If she names a specific person, and he knows the answer, then he can answer, if not, it is, 'I don't recall, senator, you whore'. Was willie brown good sex?

How so? I think a simple “I don’t know, please share specifics so we can discuss” is fine. He had no clue what was being asked, regarding whom, why, and when, etc. This was a fishing expedition and had nothing to gain by playing along. I do agree with you that he did seem surprised, almost a deer in the headlights moment, maybe out of incredulity that she ask in the manner that she did? His control and answers over the previous 12 hours yesterday was incredible. He will be one of the strongest, focused, and knowledgable justices on the court. A good replacement I suspect for Roberts as Chief Justice.

“Kavanaugh did not come off well and needs to answer the flipping question”

I you asked me under oath if I had ever discussed politics with a member of firm X, how would I give an honest reply unless I knew I had? I don’t talk to many people - retired and antisocial - but back when I was working and talked to hundreds of people a day?
