Monica Lewinsky shuts down J’lem interview
Jerusalem Post ^ | September 3, 2018 22:02 | Amy Spiro

Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern turned anti-bullying activist, gave an emotional speech in Jerusalem on Monday night before abruptly leaving at the start of an interview.

Lewinsky addressed the Channel 2 news conference about her experiences in the wake of the revelations of her affair with then-US president Bill Clinton. Following her speech, Lewinsky sat down for a scheduled talk with news anchor Yonit Levi.

Levi asked Lewinsky if she was still expecting a private apology from Clinton after all these years.

Lewinsky simply answered: “I’m sorry, I’m not going to be able to do this,” and quickly walked off the stage. Conference organizers did not give any reason for her abrupt departure. A spokesman would not say if Lewinsky left the stage because of the question itself.

On Twitter several hours later, Lewinsky said that she had been misled by Levi, who crossed the line.

"There were clear parameters about what we would be discussing and what we would not," she wrote on Twitter. Lewinsky said Levi had asked her that question a day earlier, and she had declared it off limits.

"When she asked me it on stage, with blatant disregard for our agreement, it became clear to me I had been misled. I left because it is more important than ever for women to stand up for themselves and not allow others to control their narrative."

A similar article was published by The Hill, it is also posted here on FR.

I found this article more detailed and interesting than others I read on the subject. And the interview and speech were in Israel, not in the U.S.

She needs to really get a job or a husband. I mean, she’s in her 40s now.

Who can afford to fly to Israel for a talk and then cancel it?
A: Someone who was paid to do it.

“I left because it is more important than ever for women to stand up for themselves and not allow others to control their narrative.”

Then why didn’t you control the narrative? Why didn’t you say “We had an agreement and asking that question violates our agreement. If you would like to continue this interview within the framework of our agreement, I’d be happy to discuss other topics.”

Instead you stormed off and let others control the narrative.

She is well known as you know.

I am reluctant to blame a young girl for involvement with slick willie. Many women have been handled by him.

She is at some level a victim of both Hill and Bill. Lots of people have been victimized by them over the years.

If she tried to make a respectable life for herself, I support that.

Here is the photo from the JP that I thought looked pretty good.

No, because of her actions to bring awareness to the issue of on-line bullying.

Sounds like a childish concept, but it is not.

There is now question that her life was damaged by her actions with BJ Clinton.

I LOVE THAT SHE EXPOSED ANOTHER LIAR LEFTIST MEDIA HACK

They had an agreement, that specific question was not allowed, so it gets asked first thing...

She was a young woman, he was the President. She is not blameless, but his guilt is much more than hers.

The article said they had an agreement before the interview that that subject was off limits.

I guess nobody in the media ever abides by agreements as to subject matter.

Wait a minute. Has no one explained to her the foundation of her platform? If she thinks that her good looks, quick whit, high moral character and public speaking skills are the reason she gets media coverage for her “anti-bullying” platform, she is delusional.

She is the subject of an historical media cycle. Awards were won for the coverage of the saga she was at the center of. Her name will be in history books for generations. The history books are not going to remember her for her epoch contributions to stopping bullying. If she doesn’t have a canned answer for this simple question by now, she should go back to secretarial work and back out of the spotlight.

Monica’s new career actually centers not on blaming Bill.

Far, far, far from it:

Her new project is advocating for tighter control of the internet.

All this shadow-banning, de-platforming..?

That is 100% Monica’s thing, Monica’s vision for our future.

She’s being taken advantage of now far more than back when she was Bill’s plaything.

I agree with your statement. I’ve always loathed Hill and Bill. Got a big education about them while he was still in AR.

Businessmen that I dealt with gave me a lot of detail that never was printed about them.

You may want to remember that humans can and will make mistakes. And there is an old adage which states in so many words “All Saints have a past, and all sinners have a future” The question remains how she feels about her past?
